Single Technologies is a Stockholm-based deep tech company aiming to transform the data generation in sequencing completely through our patented 3-D Sequencing™, a truly disruptive technology.
Single was founded in 2014 as a unique combination of research from the Royal Institute of Technology and R&D in the fiber optical grating industry. A strong multidisciplinary team is pushing the limits of what the industry assumes is possible when it comes to sequencing and Big Data generation.

Ulf Landegren
SCIENCE ADVISOR
MD and PhD, professor of molecular medicine at Uppsala and previously postdoc with Lee Hood at Caltech. Ulf has authored 230 peer-reviewed publications, and he is inventor of 50 patents or applications. His unique innovations include padlock probes for measuring DNA and proximity ligation assays for detecting proteins. Ten biotech companies have their origins from Ulf including Olink and ParAllele Biosciences. Member of EMBO and the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences.

IP & OPERATIONS MANAGER
Brings a wealth of expertise in engineering and material physics. Master of Science in Engineering Physics and a PhD in Material Physics from the KTH Royal Institute of Technology. PhD thesis on superconductors underscores his deep technical knowledge. The driving force behind IP activities. Provides strategic management support in long-term planning, forecasts, and risk assessments. Rich background in the tech industry, including key roles at Mycronic and Chordate Medical. Dedicated to securing and enhancing our technological edge.
Joakim Adrup
SENIOR SOFTWARE & BIOINFORMATICS
The mastermind behind the data analysis pipeline. Solid background in software engineering and an MSc in Media Technology from KTH Royal Institute of Technology. Brings unparalleled expertise to the team. Experience includes a master thesis at the prestigious European Space Agency and exchange studies at Nanyang Technological University. Driven by the vision of pushing the boundaries of bioinformatics to revolutionize the way we analyze and understand biological data.

HEAD OF SEQUENCING, INTERIM
At the forefront of sequencing. Leverages his extensive knowledge in Natural Sciences from the University of Cambridge, where he specialized in Chemistry. Completed his PhD under the renowned Prof. Steven Ley, honing his skills in automating microfluidic chemical synthesis. Previously, pivotal roles at Cyclofluidic, Base4, and Lightcast, developing cutting-edge DNA sequencing methods and microfluidic flow-cells. Passionate about advancing biotechnology to unlock new frontiers in genomics.

CHIEF GENOMIC OFFICER
B.Sc. in Biology from Fudan University, M.Sc. in Applied Biotechnology, and a Ph.D. in Medical Science from Uppsala University. Over a decade of cutting-edge academic research in cancer genetics. Xiang leads our Application R&D team, spearheading the development of innovative 3-D sequencing kits. Her postdoctoral research at the International Agency for Research on Cancer and Karolinska Institutet, along with contributions to the WHO Classification of Tumors series, highlight her outstanding credentials. Passionate about democratizing DNA sequencing, making it faster and more affordable, and unlocking new possibilities in genomics.

M.Sc. in Engineering from KTH Royal Institute of Technology. Marketing executive program from Stockholm School of Economics. Focuses on product management, business development, and strategy. Began his career at Sarastro. Worked in Silicon Valley as a product manager for Molecular Dynamics, contributed to the company's successful IPO. Held significant roles at Elekta, advancing clinical equipment for neurosurgery and radiation therapy, including as marketing manager in Atlanta. Believes in a data-driven future enabled by AI and ML with genomic information.

Johan is a driving force behind the digitization of biological samples. He co-founded Single Technologies to push the boundaries of sequencing technologies. Johan designed and patented the world’s fastest 3-D imaging system and has established international collaborations, including work on in situ sequencing with Mats Nilsson and the Genome Institute of Singapore. He is also a board member of Newbury Pharma. Johan holds an MSc in Mathematics and Engineering Physics and a PhD in Biological Physics from KTH Royal Institute of Technology. His research has focused on single-molecule and single-cell proteomics.

Xiang leads our Application R&D team, focusing on developing 3-D sequencing kits. With 15 years of experience in software development, Patrik leads the technology team at Single Technologies. He has worked with Tradeshift, Accenture, Ericsson, and Propertyfinder. Patrik holds an MSc in Media Technology from KTH Royal Institute of Technology and specializes in developing scalable software solutions.
Anders Börjefors
CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER
Anders brings over 17 years of experience in investment banking with UBS and Credit Suisse, as well as experience as the former CEO of tech company Defunc. At Single Technologies, Anders oversees budgeting, accounting, and financing, using his financial expertise to help drive our company's growth. He holds a Master of Science in Economics and Business from Stockholm School of Economics.

William manages IP strategy and operations at Single Technologies. He has a Master of Science in Engineering Physics and a PhD in Material Physics from KTH Royal Institute of Technology, with a focus on superconductors. William's previous roles include positions at Mycronic and Chordate Medical.

Richard has extensive knowledge in natural sciences, with a focus on organic chemistry. He earned his PhD under Professor Steven Ley at the University of Cambridge. Alan leads the development Theta 128 beta project at Single Technologies. With a robust background in Electrical Engineering, Automation, and Robotics. Educated at KTH Royal Institute of Technology and Purdue University, Alan holds an BSc in Electrical Engineering and MSc in Automation and Robotics.

Hampus has a background in mechanical engineering, with experience from Ovzon Sweden and Akeboose Graphic Products, where he developed satellite terminals and specialized chamber systems. He holds an MSc in Mechanical Engineering from KTH Royal Institute of Technology and contributes to a range of mechanical projects at Single Technologies.
